The perfect Early Years environment
The Nursery children follow ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage’ curriculum in order to prepare them for their Reception year. By the time you are applying for a school place, your child will already be well-used to the school environment and daily routines. We know from talking to parents that this makes starting school a much simpler process.
New Building for 2019
Our building was opened in September 2019 and has been specifically designed with the needs of our youngest children at heart. We aim to provide an inviting and open space where the children can free flow inside and out. Children explore a wide range of activities whilst being supported by experienced staff.
How to apply for a place
Please note that children who attend our nursery are not automatically guaranteed a place at the main school, normal admissions arrangements apply for primary school reception places.
Home /Nursery relationship
As with the school, our success is built on the relationships that are made between adults and children and between home and school. Developing positive partnerships with you as parents builds trust and is critical to ensuring that your child grows in confidence and self-esteem ready to start school.
As part of this relationship building we have created a ‘parent-friendly’ environment where home and nursery activities are logged and regularly shared in an individual ‘Learning Journey' book.
We use a system called Tapestry which is hosted in the UK on secure servers. You will have secure access (via email and password) to your child’s Learning Journey and, in addition to viewing our contributions, we encourage you to add to it by uploading photos, comments and video or commenting on observations made by us.
A weekly newsletter is also made available to parents, this allows you to try activities with your child at home, effectively extending their learning and maximising opportunities for all-round development. View an example of our weekly newsletter here.
