Admissions

We actively encourage parents to come and visit our school, an appointment can be made with the Headteacher for a guided tour. If you would like to register your child for a place in the school or the nursery or would like to book a visit, please contact the school office on: 01225 753530. To view the current Admission Policy please visit our Policies page.

How to apply

We are a Voluntary Controlled Primary School and as such follow Wiltshire's admission arrangements, we would always recommend visiting before applying. You need to apply directly to Wiltshire Council either by post or online using the application form provided by them.

Applying for a place at our School

Children wishing to join our school in Reception should follow the LA Admissions procedures.

For children wishing to join the school mid-year or at any point Y1-Y6, please see LA guidance

Please note that Bellefield Primary and Nursery School belongs to a collaboration of twenty two local schools who are committed to working together promoting the very best outcomes for all children.  We believe that if not managed well moving schools can have a detrimental effect on childrens learning.

If your request for an In-Year Transfer is not because of an address change or relocation from overseas, we ask that you think carefully before you apply.  Problems that your child may be experiencing may not go away simply as a result of a change of school.  We would expect that you would have discussed the reasons for the proposed move with your current school prior to making any contact with us.

If having considered the above, along with all details within the LA guidance you decide to proceed you must complete and return an In Year Transfer Form which can be found on the LA site.  Please note that in order to ensure the transfer is the most successful it can be it is essential, and a requirement of our school, that the form is completed fully.

Prior to any transfer we will contact the Headteacher of your child’s/children’s current and previous schools.  We may invite you to attend a meeting with us and them to consider arrangements to support the move.

Thank you for thinking about Bellefield Primary and Nursery School as a possible placement for your child.  We look forward to hearing from you.

You can apply for a Primary School place on the Wiltshire Council website here.

Nursery

We have fifty-two part-time places available in our Nursery. Children are admitted the term after their third birthday. We run an extensive induction programme to make the transition as easy as possible. Please visit our Nursery page for more information. Please note that children who attend our nursery are not automatically guaranteed a place at the main school, normal admissions arrangements apply for primary school reception places. You can download our complete nursery admissions policy on our Nursery page.

School

Children are admitted into the Reception Classes in the September following their fourth birthday. Initially all children attend part-time for the first two weeks. Once again a full induction programme is offered including a chance for children and parents to visit the school in the term prior to starting. You can download our complete admissions policy on our policies page.
