Cedar Class Teaching Assistant: Mrs Bouchama

Mrs Hayward will be teaching Cedar Class on a Tuesdays and Mrs Sully will be teaching on Wednesday morning.

What we are learning about:

This term we are going to be doing a history topic: The Romans! Find out how we will be exploring our topic in all areas of the curriculum by downloading our topic plan and our knowledge organiser below.

We will discover more about the Roman times and how life was different then compared to now. We will learn more about famous Romans and the impact they had on Britain.  We will be also visiting the Roman Baths in October and getting the chance to show all our learning in a big production to the parents called 'Rockin' Romans in November.

If you would like to do some additional home learning based on what we are doing in school, here are a range of super resources for you to use! - Multiplication practice - Maths and English - Science (Forces and Magnets) - History (The Romans) - Roman Baths Website

This term we will be reading the book 'The Boy at the Back of the Class' by Onjali Rauf.

This is a brilliant adventure about a nine year old boy who had to escape War and ended up relocating in England.  Here he meets Josie, Michael and Tom where the story gathers pace.

Our PE days over Term 1 and 2 are Tuesday and Thursday. We will be doing invasion games on a Tuesday with Active Trowbridge which will be outside. On a Thursday, the Year 3s will be doing Multi-skills with Matt Analts and the Year 4s will be going swimming. PE kits will need to be in on those days please.

Everyone in Cedar Class will be given a reading bookmark this term to record when they have been read to including at home. The children will also have lots of opportunities to read and enjoy books throughout the week at school.

Homework will be set on Fridays and handed in by the following Wednesday. Homework set each week will alternate between Topic, English and Maths work.

Please could you ensure that your child has a small, healthy snack for snack time. They could bring in a piece of fresh or dried fruit, or vegetables (e.g. carrot sticks, cucumber etc). Please also remember that nuts are not allowed in school due to allergies. Thank you!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us on our class email:

We are really looking forward to teaching your child this year!
