Bellefield Curriculum Overview

Growing together to be the best we can be.

At the heart of our curriculum is our children.  Through rich experiences and a well sequenced knowledge and skills progression within the national curriculum, we aim for our children to be the best they can be so they may go on to make a positive impact in all they choose to do.

Spiritual, personal, social and emotional

Through our Christian ethos, we will develop our children to flourish into independent and compassionate learners who have high expectations for themselves and others.

Our children will know and celebrate their own strengths and weaknesses demonstrating understanding and respect of other faiths and beliefs.  We will develop the sense of awe and wonder and grow the spiritual development of our whole school community.

Our curriculum will ensure our children’s view of the world will guide them to be confident in their own beliefs, values and views of others.

Understanding the world

We will help our children accept and value the heritage of our families and our communities.  We want our children to understand and celebrate what unites us.

Our children will actively engage in being stewards of the local and global environment and they will have a collective sense of responsibility for the impact their small actions can have on the world.

Our children will understand and value their place in the world from an historical and geographical perspective.

Mental and physical well-being

We will work alongside our  children to foster a strong sense of belonging and ensure that everyone feels valued and loved with our Bellefield community.  We will provide a caring environment with quality interactions that support mental health and well-being.

Our children will develop high self-esteem which will lead to resilience and pride in their own achievements.

Delivery of our curriculum

Our experienced teaching team work collaboratively to deliver a curriculum that is tailored to our children's needs.  Specialist teachers support the teaching of music and P.E. We ensure that the children have regular trips, experiences and opportunities to go on residentials to enhance their learning during their time with us and prepare them to be global citizens.

We expect to challenge our children to help them learn and build upon key personal skills to prepare them for life.  Our curriculum is inclusive and is designed to meet the needs of all children with SEND as well as being carefully tailored to support our more vulnerable learners.
